Ingredients

  • 12 bought tart shells
  • 1 cup (250ml) Nestle Top ‘n’ Fill Caramel
  • 3 Pink Lady apples
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt flakes

Method

  • Step 1 Preheat oven to 200C.
  • Step 2 Place the tart shells on a large baking tray. Bake for 10 mins.
  • Step 3 Fill each tart shell with 1 tablespoon of the caramel.
  • Step 4 To make the apple roses, use an apple corer to core the apples. Halve the apples lengthways, then cut crossways into 1mm-thick slices. Place in a large bowl with the lemon juice. Toss to combine. Set aside for 10 mins or until softened. Place about 14 apple slices, overlapping slightly, on a clean work surface and roll up tightly. Arrange over a tart to form a rose. Repeat with remaining apple slices and tarts. Sprinkle with the salt.
  • Step 5 Bake for 10 mins or until the pastry is golden and apple is tender. Transfer to a wire to cool completely.
