Ingredients

  • 250g butter, chopped
  • 200g dark chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 100g milk chocolate, finely chopped
  • double cream, to serve

Method

  • Step 1 Preheat oven to 160°C/140°C fan-forced. Grease a 6cm-deep, 22cm (base) round cake pan. Line with baking paper.
  • Step 2 Place butter, dark chocolate and milk in a saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring, for 10 to 12 minutes or until melted and smooth. Transfer to a large bowl. Cool for 5 minutes.
  • Step 3 Whisk sugar and eggs into chocolate mixture. Sift flour and cocoa over mixture. Whisk to combine. Stir through half the milk chocolate. Pour into prepared pan. Sprinkle with remaining milk chocolate. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre has moist crumbs clinging. Cool completely in pan. Serve with cream.
