Ingredients

  • 40g (1/4 cup) sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 1 red onion, halved, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 500g beef fillet, thinly sliced across the grain
  • 1 x 440g pkt thin hokkien-style 98% fat-free shelf fresh noodles (Wokka brand)
  • 100g bean sprouts
  • 100g snow peas, trimmed, thinly sliced lengthways
  • 80g snow pea sprouts
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) honey teriyaki stir-fry sauce (Continental Stir Fry Tonight brand)
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) Massel vegetable liquid stock
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • Pinch of salt

Method

  • Step 1 Heat a wok over medium heat until just smoking. Add sesame seeds. Stir-fry for 30 seconds or until toasted. Transfer to a bowl.
  • Step 2 Heat half the oil in the same wok over medium-high heat until just smoking. Stir-fry onion and garlic for 2 minutes or until onion softens. Transfer to a bowl. Reheat wok and stir-fry one-third of the beef for 2 minutes or until brown. Transfer to bowl with the onion. Repeat, in 2 batches, with remaining beef.
  • Step 3 Rinse noodles under warm water to separate. Drain. Heat remaining oil in the wok over medium-high heat until smoking. Add noodles, beef mixture, bean sprouts, snow peas and snow pea sprouts. Stir-fry for 2 minutes or until heated through.
  • Step 4 Combine the honey teriyaki sauce, stock and oyster sauce in a jug. Add to wok and stir-fry for 1 minute or until hot. Taste and season with salt. Transfer to serving bowls and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
