Ingredients

  • 800g beef rump steak, trimmed, cut into 3cm pieces
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 Lebanese cucumbers
  • 1/2 cup no-fat plain Greek-style yoghurt
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 3 tomatoes, halved, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 naan breads, warmed
  • Fresh coriander sprigs, to serve
  • Lemon wedges, to serve

Method

  • Step 1 Place beef, cumin, coriander, chilli powder and 1 tablespoon oil in a large bowl. Toss to coat. Thread beef evenly onto 8 skewers.
  • Step 2 Preheat a barbecue plate or chargrill on medium-high heat. Cook skewers, turning, for 8 minutes for medium or until cooked to your liking.
  • Step 3 Meanwhile, peel 1 cucumber. Halve both cucumbers lengthways and de-seed. Grate peeled cucumber. Thinly slice unpeeled cucumber. Combine grated cucumber, yoghurt and garlic in a small bowl. Combine sliced cucumber, tomato, onion and remaining oil in a large bowl.
  • Step 4 Place naan, skewers, salad and yoghurt sauce on plates. Serve with coriander sprigs and lemon wedges.
